Mission Trip #4

Mission Trip 2015: Kenya

Well I guess I can say I am not much of a Blogger!  I intended to summarize my trip last year and only typed up one week.  I am trying to find the best  way to let people know about my upcoming mission trip and am not sure of the most efficient source.  So once again I will try Facebook and this Blog.  I do plan on taking my computer with me this year so perhaps I will be able to keep up with some posts??

Once again I am blessed to be returning to Kenya for five weeks this summer. I will be working at the Fiwagoh Mission Orphanage.  While at the orphanage, one of our team projects will be running a Math/Science camp for the 240+ orphans and conducting teacher training.  Each year I travel to Africa, God has opened my heart to new experiences and relationships all bounded by His heart that is full of love and grace.

I am asking first and foremost for prayer for our team and myself.  In this time Africa is becoming more volatile and Christians are being attacked.  As I travel there I know God has called me to go and am not afraid, however the power of prayer can change outcomes!

One of my responsibilities is to design and lead the Math/Science camp for kids in grades 6-12.  This represents approximately 70 students.  Some of the camp activities will be: making kaleidoscopes out of PVC pipes, making rainbows, calculating the height of the water tower (indirect measurement), geometry scavenger hunt, orienteering treasure hunt, and tie-die t-shirts.  If you would like to make donations towards the purchase of supplies you can do it in one of the following ways:

§  Send a check or cash to me.
§  Go online to Equip1.org and donate under my name.

Some of the items that I still need to purchase:

§  70 – Geometry Templates,  $4.50 each
§  15 – digital cameras
§  Sets of Sharpy markers

Prayer Requests:

§  Safety, discernment, and grace

Peace and Joy,

Kris
